University College "CEPS - Center for Business Studies" Kiseljak is partnering with the University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica in organizing the 17th conference "Days of Crisis Management," which is set to take place on May 22 and 23, 2024, at Terme Tuhelj (Well Hotel), Croatia.

The international conference "Days of Crisis Management - DKU 2024" aims to provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and best practices among scientists, professionals, organizations, and stakeholders involved in crisis management.

Climate change has become a complex global threat that requires a comprehensive understanding and coordinated efforts at the global, national, and local levels. The conference aims to exchange the latest findings, emphasize the importance of sustainable development for adapting to climate changes, and understand the application of early warning systems to reduce the consequences of crises. This aligns closely with the objectives of the 1FUTURE and GROWTH projects, in which CEPS is a partner, aimed at improving regional capacities for implementing Green Deal goals within the higher education system. Additionally, the project seeks to mainstream a climate and sustainability culture across higher education institutions, embedding eco-conscious values and practices to support long-term environmental resilience.

The conference will enable the analysis of past crises, their causes, responses, and recommendations that can be identified as a significant theme of all research conducted as case studies. Developing and applying crisis management strategies, and discussing best practices and methods for managing crises, becomes an important segment of state policies of special importance for national security

The importance of effective communication during crises is increasingly emphasized, especially the planning of communication strategies, transparency, public engagement, as well as the role of the media in crisis situations. The application of innovations and technology in threat identification, risk assessment, and the prediction and mitigation of crises has become an indispensable factor in crisis management systems. Considering the application of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, data analysis, and information management tools, is imperative at this Conference.

The official languages of the conference are Croatian and English.
