An essential requirement for admission is completion of the previous year, i.e.,
passing exams from the previous year and earning the minimum number of ECTS credits
specified in the Rules of the study. The study year begins with winter semester
and continues with the spring semester. In addition, each course can have several
prerequisites courses that need to be completed in order to pass it.
Student’s duties and obligations for each course are determined and announced at
the very beginning of each class and made available through Infoeduk system for
students. Each course is worth an appropriate amount of ECTS credits. Number of
ECTS credits is determined by the number of hours that a student should invest in
order to be able to grasp the subject matter, and this includes active teaching
(lectures and exercises), as well as work at home. One ECTS credit equals 30 working
hours. Student's average weekly workload is about 22-24 teaching hours at the College
and about 15 to 20 hours at home. Students are expected to collect 30 ECTS credits
pro semester. Each academic year (two semesters) is worth 60 ECTS credits. Within
the final - sixth or eighth – semester, student has to write the final thesis which
also brings the ECTS credits. A total number of ECTS credits required for completing
three years of study and issuing a degree certificate is 180 ECTS credits, i.e.
240 ECTS credits for four years of study.
In order to be allowed to take an exam, a student is obliged to attend a minimum
of classes and, based on that, to get the professor's signature in the index. Mandatory
attendance is determined by a teaching plan and programme, and it depends on study
programme and student's status (full-time or part-time).
Students who fail in achieving the necessary amount of presence in the classes are
not eligible for signature and they cannot take the course but they are obliged
to re-enrol the next school year and to re-take it.
