Student Naida Mutapčić spent the summer semester through the ERASMUS+ student mobility program in Poland, at the higher education institution “WSB Akademia” in Dąbrowa Górnicza, where she attended courses specified in the Learning Agreement. Naida is a third-year student in the Traffic Engineering (Road Traffic) study program. Her ERASMUS+ experience is shared in full below.
“ At the beginning of the winter semester of my third year studying in the Road Traffic study program, I came across an announcement on the University College CEPS website about applying for a student exchange to the Republic of Poland. The program was at “WSB Akademia” in Dąbrowa Górnicza, near Katowice.
I applied with the intention of experiencing studying and living in a country that, while also having Slavic roots, is much more developed compared to the countries in my region.
My experience in the Republic of Poland and at WSB Akademia was unforgettable. Not only was the academic staff always available to help if we had any doubts or needed assistance, but local students were also very eager to spend time with us.
During this semester, I met students from all corners of the world, from four different continents. The lectures were in English, and professors always made an effort to explain the material further if we did not understand it well enough. Besides regular classes, we also had practical sessions where we worked on various tasks and projects either in groups or individually, which will be useful when we start working in our field.
WSB Akademia has an “Erasmus Club” run by students from the university, who organize activities for exchange students. I eagerly participated in all the workshops, parties, excursions, and seminars organized by this club.
The university also provided us with student cards, allowing us to travel across the Republic of Poland just like local students. We also received free Polish language lessons to help us communicate more easily with the locals. Everyone welcomed and accepted us warmly. During these five months, local students and we, Erasmus students, became one big group of friends who were always there for each other.
I would like to thank the University College CEPS, and especially Professor Nermin Palić, for selecting me as the student from the Road Traffic program who would spend the summer semester in the Republic of Poland. I also want to thank all the professors, the student services, and the Erasmus coordinator at WSB Akademia for always being available to assist me.
I recommend that anyone who gets the chance to go on a student exchange to WSB Akademia in the Republic of Poland should definitely apply. It will surely be an unforgettable experience, just as it was for me.”
The University College "CEPS-Center for Business Studies" Kiseljak regularly offers its students opportunities to spend part of their education at institutions across Europe, where they can gain valuable experiences, enjoy beautiful moments, and make new acquaintances.
