This thermal power plant has the installed capacity of 715 MW, with the average annual generation of electricity of around 3100 GWh. In addition to the generation of electricity for the EES, Thermal Power Plant “Tuzla” also produces and supplies: thermal energy for district heating of the towns of Tuzla and Lukavac, steam for the industry and industrial water for immediate environment.

The students were given a detailed tour of the Unit 6, the cooling system, systems of surveillance and control etc. They were introduced to the work of this Public Enterprise, its development and the current productive status of the thermal power plant as a subsidiary of the Public Electric Utility Company of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Also, the students were acquainted with the forthcoming development plans i.e. the construction of the replacement cogeneration lignite Unit 7, as well as expanding the remote heating network to other municipalities in Tuzla Canton.
