The University College "CEPS - Center for Business Studies" Kiseljak successfully implemented the Erasmus+ student exchange program in the 2024/2025 academic year. Within this mobility program, CEPS hosted three students, Noel, Sebastian, and Aroa, from the partner institution CIPFP Luis Suñer Sanchis from Alzira (Valencia, Spain).

During the winter semester, the students attended lectures in six different subjects, all delivered in English. A teaching team composed of six professors from CEPS College worked diligently to provide high-quality education and to create an encouraging international academic environment.

Below, we share their experiences.

Noel:

My first weeks in Sarajevo were a true cultural shock, but that’s exactly what makes the Erasmus experience so enriching. I slowly began learning local words and understanding social behavior, and by the second day, we had already joined a gym and explored the nightlife by going out to a club. One of the highlights was our weekend trip to Trebević Mountain, where the view of the city—nestled between hills and built along a tiny river—was absolutely stunning. While the student dorm we stayed in was not very comfortable and I would strongly recommend renting a private apartment instead, the academic experience at CEPS was excellent. The university building was modern and welcoming, and the professors were engaging and made us feel connected to the lessons. I also enjoyed Kiseljak, a peaceful town with nice spots to eat and beautiful scenery along the route from Sarajevo. Overall, Bosnia and Herzegovina is a wonderfully green and scenic country, and I would definitely recommend it as an Erasmus destination—just be prepared for the cultural differences and embrace the experience fully.“

Aroa:

Erasmus was a truly unique and transformative experience for me—something I never imagined I could do, especially spending three months away from home in a distant country like Bosnia and Herzegovina. The first few days were filled with sadness and fear as I faced a new stage of life alone in another part of Europe, but also with great excitement. Over time, Sarajevo became our new home; every walk through the city, its rich history, and the stories we heard left a permanent mark on my heart. This experience also gave me the chance to travel to places I never thought I would visit—Serbia, North Macedonia, Italy, Croatia, Sweden, and Norway—and helped me grow personally in ways I never imagined. Erasmus is an emotional roller coaster, a journey of self-discovery, and an unforgettable chapter in life that shows just how big the world truly is. Going back home will never feel the same, because a part of me will always remain in the place where I felt free, happy, and brave. I’m especially grateful for my two travel companions who shared this adventure with me, and I must thank professors Ana, Bakir, Kenan, Nenad, Valentina, and Nermin, who made the entire experience even more enjoyable and memorable.“

The experiences of students Noel and Aroa clearly demonstrate that CEPS Kiseljak is successfully building a recognizable international educational environment that offers students opportunities for academic and personal development through the Erasmus+ mobility program. CEPS not only opens its doors to students from abroad, providing them with quality education, cultural exchange, and new life experiences, but also offers its professors valuable opportunities to work in an international context, strengthen their linguistic and pedagogical competencies, and develop a global perspective in their teaching practice
