Student Naida Pljevljak spent the summer semester of the 2024/2025. academic year in Spain at the University of Seville as an ERASMUS+ student exchange. Naida is a second-year student in the Information Technology (Information Systems and Technologies) study program. You can read about hers ERASMUS+ experience below:
„During the summer semester of the academic year 2024/2025. I had the opportunity to participate in the ERASMUS+ student exchange program at the University of Seville (Spain).
Staying in Seville allowed me to meet students from different parts of the world. This was a unique opportunity to get to know different cultures, ways of thinking and customs, which greatly contributed to my personal development and openness to diversity. I made new friends and established contacts that, I believe, will last even after the end of my studies. During a short time, I got to know the city and its culture. The Faculty of Reina Mercedes is part of the University of Seville (Universidad de Sevilla), one of the oldest and most respected universities in Spain.
Classes at the university were excellently organized. The courses were of high quality, and the professors were very approachable, dedicated and ready to help foreign students. They encouraged interactive teaching, teamwork and discussion, which helped me to develop new academic skills and improve my knowledge in the field I am studying. Also, the university has excellent library resources, laboratories and other contents that are available to all students. I can say that the building is quite modernly equipped with computers, laboratories where practical exercises for students were performed.
In addition to academic activities, I had the opportunity to travel around Spain, to get to know the rich Andalusian culture, music, dance and traditional food. Seville is a city with an exceptional atmosphere and history. It was a pleasure to call that place my home for a few months. My stay in Seville was during the period when the famous Andalusian holiday Feria de Abril is being organized - a traditional spring festival that takes place every year in Seville. During my stay in Spain, I was delighted by the atmosphere, traditional culture and hospitality of the local population. I used my free time to travel around the country, including the Canary Islands, which further enriched my unforgettable experience.
This student exchange was one of the most beautiful experiences in my education so far and I would recommend all students to take advantage of this opportunity. I came back with a lot of knowledge, self-confidence and memories that I will remember for a long time."
