Student Pablo Garcia-Moreno from the partner higher education institution IES EI Lago from Madrid (Spain) completed an ERASMUS+ student internship at Gebrüder Weiss d.o.o. in Sarajevo during the summer semester of the academic year 2024/2025. year. It is a company with a rich tradition spanning more than half a millennium.
It is important to point out that, on the basis of the signed cooperation agreement and on the initiative of CEPS, a student internship was made possible in the mentioned company. The internship for the student from Spain was arranged through the 1FUTURE platform, and communication was conducted between the head of the International Relations Office and Career Development and the company representative.
During the internship, the student had the opportunity to learn about logistics operations, as well as the application of sustainable practices in transportation and storage.
The experience of student Pablo from Spain follows below:
„During my Erasmus experience in Sarajevo, I had the opportunity to work at Gebrüder Weiss, a leading logistics company with a strong international presence. It was a truly enriching experience, both professionally and personally. I was fortunate to be involved in various departments, including logistics, finance, and freight forwarding, which allowed me to learn new skills, broaden my knowledge, and gain a comprehensive understanding of the industry.
Furthermore, I met wonderful people who made my stay even more rewarding and enjoyable, and I was able to appreciate the culture and lifestyle of a new country. Overall, this experience was a significant step forward in my professional and personal growth, and I’m truly grateful for having had the chance to be a part of it.
I also had the opportunity to travel to Croatia a couple times, to Italy, Sweden and UK to get to know the different cultures and architecture around Europe. I would like to thank both institutions for making this possible, Nermin from CEPS and the team from IES Lago, for their support, guidance, and kindness. Thank you very much.“
