At the University College "CEPS-Center for Business Studies" in Kiseljak, we celebrated World Bicycle Day (June 3) and World Environment Day (June 5) last week. This event, which has become an annual tradition, brought together students, professors, and administrative staff in a joint celebration of these important environmental dates.
The celebration began with lectures dedicated to topics of sustainability, environmental protection, and the importance of cycling as an eco-friendly mode of transportation. The lecturers highlighted how cycling contributes to reducing harmful gas emissions, improving air quality, and promoting a healthier lifestyle. Special emphasis was placed on the advantages of using electric bicycles, which combine comfort and environmental friendliness.
As the highlight of the celebration, a bicycle ride around the CEPS building was organized. Participants, including students, teaching staff, and administrative workers, rode electric and regular bicycles, thus showing their support for sustainable modes of transportation. The ride was not only an eco-conscious activity but also an opportunity for socializing and strengthening the community within CEPS.
In addition, we enhanced the greening of the CEPS premises by procuring and placing flowers all over the building. This initiative aimed to enrich the CEPS surroundings with greener and more pleasant environment for everyone. Also, a short presentation on the importance of the sun, wind and renewable energy sources for the environment was held in the energetics technical cabinet.
CEPS Kiseljak plans to continue with such initiatives in the future, with additional activities that will involve the wider community. The goal is to continually educate and raise awareness about the importance of environmental protection and sustainable lifestyles.
This event once again demonstrated CEPS's commitment to promoting ecological values, the green agenda, and actively contributing to environmental protection through education and practical activities. All participants agreed that this was an excellent way to mark World Bicycle Day and World Environment Day and are looking forward to similar events in the future.
