CEPS student Ema Alić completed a two month student internship as part of the ERASMUS+ program at the Tirant lo Blanc Institute in Gandia, Spain. Ema is a third year student in the Criminalistics study program. During her stay, she had the opportunity to gain new knowledge and experience through work in the institution's administration, but also to get to know a new culture, lifestyle, and work environment. ERASMUS+ mobility offers students the opportunity for personal and professional development and is a valuable experience that leaves a special mark.
Below, we share the experience of student Ema:
From 22.2. until 22.4. I participated in the Erasmus+ exchange in Gandia, Spain. I signed up for the exchange out of a wish to gain new experiences, and I have not regretted it. I did my student internship in the administration of the Tirant lo Blanc Institute. There were minor problems in communication, but we managed. My colleagues were wonderful, they helped me in everything and tried to make this experience better for me. I mostly performed tasks of sorting, binding various documents, and organizing the archive. There were interesting but also less fun days, just like in any office job. All in all, I had a great experience at the internship, and I'm grateful for that.
Over the course of two months, we went to Valencia a couple of times. The city delighted me and I'm glad I visited it, it was really worth it. One day we also visited Alicante, which left us speechless. A beautiful city, even more beautiful beaches and lots of people from the Balkans. Alicante left a special impression on me, and I hope to return there someday, at least as a tourist for a few days.
The weather was on our side, we only had a few cold and rainy days, but everything was forgotten when the sun came out. I explored Gandia every day, which, although a small town, had a lot to offer and show. The people were nice, I had no problems even if I couldn't communicate. A wonderful experience that I believe I will never forget.
The ERASMUS+ exchange left an extremely positive impression on me and an experience that will remain a part of me forever. I believe that thanks to this opportunity, I have become quite independent and have become familiar with life outside of my family home and comfort zone. I am glad for the opportunity and believe that I have used it well.
